IT Build Technician – Watford - £30,000-35,000
VIQU have partnered with a large IT reseller who are looking to expand their logistics team. They deliver a range of solutions, from hardware and software equipment supply to networking, and support services. The role would involve configuring, testing, assembling and storing IT equipment such as computers, servers, routers, switches, and cables. Responsibilities for the IT Build Technician include ensuring IT equipment is ready for deployment, installation, or troubleshooting in various locations within an organisation. Maintenance and upgrades of IT equipment may also be performed as needed.
Key Responsibilities of the IT Build Technician
As a Configuration & Sustainable IT Technician, you will undertake the following:
- Receive, unpack, and pack IT equipment from vendors or suppliers.
- Assemble, configure and asset tag IT equipment according to specifications.
- Label, document, and organize IT equipment in the configuration centre.
- Install, connect, and troubleshoot IT equipment at the designated locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on IT equipment.
- Test and reconfigure IT equipment.
- Perform lifecycle management of IT assets to ensure environmental compliance.
Essential Skills of the IT Build Technician
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with configuring various IT hardware and software platforms.
- Experience in IT equipment assembly, configuration, testing, installation, or troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of IT equipment specifications, standards, and best practices.
