Engineer's Mate - Laundry - Day/Night

About The Role

Your main aim will be to carry out a range of PPM activities including cleaning of machinery are completed in timely and safe manner according to requirements and H&S standards.

You will be working on a 4-day-on-4-day-off shift pattern, 05:45 to 17:45 on early shift and 17:45 to 05:45 late shift, 40 hours per week, on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure to communicate and feeding back information to the Shift Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities.
  • To work closely with other Engineer's Mates to ensure a handover of ongoing activities is carried out daily and sharing relevant information, good practices, knowledge, and input into continuous improvement of plant and machinery maintenance activities.
  • To support the Engineering team with ways to improve the operations
  • To undertake remedial engineering works to equipment on site as instructed by the Chief Engineer.
  • To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site and Company Health and Safety policy and to work with the Engineering Team to ensure that contractors are working safely on site and adhere H&S rules and procedures.
  • To report any incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety policies and any risks of safety or failure of equipment on site are recorded and communicated to the Manager.
  • Maintenance and appropriate use of safety equipment provided in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • To ensure that safe systems of work and best practice procedures are adhered to, and the company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • To follow written instructions for daily task and fill the documents correctly with
  • accurate data.
  • To ensure that the Company's disciplines, rules, and good housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • To maintain excellent communication between Production staff and co-workers.
  • Willing to undertake technical training to develop career prospects.
