Our client specialises in manufacturing natural stone, working with exquisite materials such as granite, marble, limestone, quartz stone, and onyx. Their expertise lies in crafting high-quality kitchens, reception desks, walls, bathrooms, and floors for luxury residences, prestigious hotels, and corporate headquarters.

Due to company growth, our client is looking to bring an experienced CNC operator to join their stone cutting team.

As a CNC Operator you will manage the entire stone-cutting process, from selecting and loading materials using a crane, programming and setting up the 5-axis OMAG cutting machine to optimize cuts and avoid faults, off-loading and quality-checking the finished pieces, to preparing for the next job in the workflow.

Position Overview

  • Select and collect the appropriate stone from the yard for each job.
  • Use a crane with suction cups to load the stone onto the machine bed.
  • Program the CNC machine to optimize cuts, accounting for natural fault lines and patterns.
  • Set up and operate the 5-axis OMAG cutting machine for precise cutting.
  • Prepare materials and the machine for the next job in the queue.
  • Offload completed stone pieces and conduct quality control checks.
  • Transition efficiently to the next job ticket as needed.
  • Work on diverse stone panels, including tasks such as book-matching, vein-matching, cutting stone sinks, and edge finishing with mitres or rebates.

Position Requirements

  • At least 12 months of experience operating a CNC machine, with full responsibility for programming, loading and unloading, and quality control.
  • Ability to understand technical/architectural drawings.
  • Ability to read measurements in mm.
  • Open to extensive on-the-job training.
  • Acknowledge that this is a safe yet dusty environment, requiring strong focus and careful handling of high-end stone materials.
