The Role

As a Lead M&E Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions that enhance energy and water efficiency across the UK.

Working from our offices in Newcastle, you will lead large-scale engineering projects, conduct in-depth design calculations, and collaborate directly with clients to ensure successful outcomes.

Overseeing the technical delivery of projects, you will mentor a dynamic team of engineers to ensure excellence at every stage and provide peer review support to the engineering team.

Additionally, you will:

  • Produce design data and sizing calculations for projects, including GSHP, ASHP, District Heating, Solar PV, and other low-carbon technologies
  • Lead and manage projects from inception through to completion and handover
  • Conduct site surveys and report findings to clients
  • Undertake site and technology assessments to support funding applications
  • Prepare full technical designs and reports for tender responses and project work

About You

To be considered as a Lead M&E Engineer, you will need:

  • An engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with CIBSE, IMechE, or IET, or to be working towards it
  • Experience in the energy industry
  • Strong experience in hydraulic and renewable heating system design
  • Expertise in renewable and low-carbon technologies such as GSHP, ASHP, Solar PV, and battery storage
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
