Senior Estimator
Our client a Construction company are looking for an enthusiastic geotechnical professional to join their award-winning team as a Senior Estimator. This is a full-time permanent position based in their office in Surrey. Offering a negotiable salary. You will occasionally need to travel to site and clients for meetings.
What will you be doing?
You will be involved in complex major projects, large infrastructure schemes, as well as relatively small-scale ground engineering jobs, all of which will test your problem-solving skills and provide vast opportunities for learning and growing within this field. You will be working as part of the Geotechnical preconstruction team; you will have the freedom to work independently and manage your own time. You will take ownership of opportunities from receipt of the enquiry and up to handover with the delivery team. You will collaborate with the in-house engineering and delivery teams to develop appropriate tender proposals. You will participate in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stages of prospective projects. You will design coordination on contracts. You will estimate works and producing work winning submissions, presenting geotechnical solutions to the potential clients.
What skills will you have?
- Ideally 5+ year's experience in specialist ground engineering field
- A solid understanding of geotechnical principles
- Previous experience in estimating piling/slope stabilisation/ground anchoring/grouting packages
- The ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines
- Comfortable in talking to colleagues, prospective clients, external consultants and specialists, and other industry professional
- Experience in estimating from first principles
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
