Maintenance Technician

Quick Staff UK is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing organisation based in the Llantrisant area. Or clients is looking to strengthen their manufacturing team. As a result, we are looking for an enthusiastic, Maintenance Technician with determination, ambition and self-motivation to support the drive for growth in our client's business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond immediately to equipment and machinery failure, conducting systematic fault finding
  • Carry out Preventative Maintenance tasks as scheduled
  • Determine cause of potential failures or performance deterioration and if possible complete remedial work
  • Be aware of all incidents from other shifts and work with Operational Management to promptly implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Keep maintenance and breakdown records of all operational machinery
  • Monitoring of spares levels and report when stocks are low
  • Manage Statutory Equipment on site i.e. fire alarm, security systems
  • Contribute to specific projects as assigned by Senior Management
  • Regularly observe the operation of all equipment, identifying causes of reduction in output, yield losses or quality problems.
  • Developing and recommending solutions to Continually Improve the operational performance of all equipment and Machinery.

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in engineering
  • Fault finding knowledge on; motors / sensors / panel equipment / bearings / cylinders / valves
  • Ability to read electrical / mechanical drawings and fault find from them.
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Understand the capability/capacity of the operations department processes
  • Understand machine rates, SPC and Performance OEE
  • Understanding of department targets and objectives.
  • Capable of root cause analysis to predict and eliminate operational problems
  • Utilization of Continuous Improvement Techniques at all times throughout Factory

Hours of work:

6.00am - 2.00pm / 2.00pm - 10.00pm
(Rotating Weekly)
