Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and organised General Foreman to oversee and manage civil engineering projects on site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising construction activities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise site operations, ensuring work is carried out to the required standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute construction activities.
  • Manage labour, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to project timelines.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols on site, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor and inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on site promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports.
  • Provide training and mentorship to site staff, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with construction safety regulations and quality standards.
