EHCP Writer

In this role, you'll manage a caseload to help the Local Authority meet its statutory duties for pupils with SEN and disabilities. Acting as a key worker, you'll explain processes to parents, settings, and colleagues, and handle SEND-related inquiries from schools and the public. You'll leverage community resources, work creatively to develop service improvements, and use a strengths-based approach to support children and young people.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting statutory responsibilities for SEN and disabilities.
  • Acting as the primary contact for EHC Needs Assessments, offering advice and support.
  • Managing SEND casework and EHC plans, chairing plan meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate records and distributing resources to schools.
  • Advising on funding sources and delivering high-quality services.
  • Developing innovative service approaches and quality assurance processes.
  • Providing advice to SENCOs, Head teachers, and other professionals.
  • Influencing stakeholders and ensuring fair treatment.
  • Complying with GDPR guidelines for data management.

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience at NVQ/CQF level 4.
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation, funding processes, and school systems.
  • Experience with children, ICT systems, and various stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of SEN frameworks and health and social care servic
