  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 15:30
  • Start Date: September 2024

Reed Education is recruiting for an SEN Teacher for a wonderful SEN School catering to young pupils from 4 to 11 years olds with a wide range of learning difficulties. We are looking for a dedicated teacher who is patient, empathetic, and understanding, with experience working with children on the Autistic spectrum being preferred but not essential.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support pupils one-on-one and in small groups, focusing on building their confidence, life skills, and academic abilities.
  • Assist with reading, writing, and listening activities, tailoring your approach to each child's unique Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP).
  • Work closely with a team of Teaching Assistants to provide comprehensive support to each pupil.
  • Uphold the school's ethos, which has been recognised as ‘Excellent' by ESTYN, ensuring it is lived out daily through each pupil's experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A passion for working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of the needs of non-verbal and verbally challenged pupils.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with support staff to enhance the educational experience of pupils.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Willingness to undergo compliance checks, including obtaining a DBS and providing good references.
