Reed Accountancy are currently partnered with a well established client in the local area who are seeking a Finance Officer to join their existing team on an initial 12 month contract. As Finance Officer you will work as part of a team, ensuring the effective, efficient, and accurate processing of financial transactions. This role is ideal for someone who is highly motivated, thrives in a remote work environment, and enjoys connecting with their team virtually.
Day to day of the role:
- Processing purchase invoices, credit notes, sales orders, and invoices.
- Applying payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conducting periodic payment of suppliers.
- Maintaining clear records of financial transactions in accordance with organisational and tax authority requirements.
- Responding to queries from internal and external stakeholders, expediting delivery of ordered goods and services.
- Supporting internal customers on financial systems and processes.
- Checking and verifying bank transactions.
- Preparing ledger balances, control accounts, and statements, reconciling statements, accounts, and related transactions.
- Identifying and correcting or referring any errors or accounting discrepancies.
- Providing cost and revenue information to support decision making and management planning.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong customer service orientation and great communication skills for building positive relationships.
- Highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
- Organised with the capability to multitask across several work streams simultaneously..
- Proficient computer processing skills.
- Recent working experience in a financial function.
- Experience working in a transaction processing function.
- Experience in customer service.
- Essential experience in Sales Ledger / Credit Control.
