This full-time role will focus on providing individualised support to a child with Cerebral Palsy, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.
Role Overview: As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to deliver tailored assistance to a student with Cerebral Palsy. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the child's physical, emotional, and educational needs are met, enabling them to participate fully in classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to the child, assisting with mobility, communication, and classroom activities.
- Adapt learning materials and teaching methods to suit the child's needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
- Assist with personal care tasks as required, maintaining the child's dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record the child's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team and parents.
- Encourage social interaction and participation in group activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with physical disabilities, is highly desirable.
- A relevant qualification in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN diploma) is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of Cerebral Palsy and its impact on learning and development.
