Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leeds Office

Salary: Up to £35,000 (DOE)

About Us:

We are a well-established contractor operating in the Water and Environmental sectors as well as ground works and highways, serving Water Authorities, Environmental Agencies, and Local Council clients. Our projects range in value from £10K to £2M, and we act as both principal contractors and subcontractors for major Tier 1 companies such as BAM, Tilbury, and Kier. We are currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Leeds.

The Role:

You will join a dynamic QS team, reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Initially, you will be responsible for carrying out contractual administrative duties as you become familiar with the main tasks and progress in your development. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for growth, working alongside experienced professionals, including a Commercial Director, Managing Quantity Surveyor, and Senior Quantity Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Senior Quantity Surveyors with contractual administration

Assist in the management of costs, budgets, and contract valuations

Contribute to tender preparation, measurement, and pricing

Conduct site visits to monitor project progress

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers

Assist with producing cost reports and forecasts

Progress into handling full commercial responsibilities as development progresses

Requirements:

Degree in Quantity Surveying or working towards a qualification (graduates and day release candidates are welcome)

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous experience in civil engineering, water, or environmental projects is desirable but not essential

Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes is a plus
