Job Description:
Are you an experienced social worker passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join the Referral and Assessment Team in Gateshead.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting initial assessments, identifying needs, and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place to support children and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough initial assessments of children and families referred to the team.
- Identifying the needs, risks, and protective factors to ensure children's safety and well-being.
- Collaborating with families, colleagues, and external agencies to gather information and provide coordinated support.
- Making informed decisions about the level of intervention required and referring cases to appropriate services.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, plans, and interventions.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in a referral and assessment role or similar.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and safeguarding.
