Reed is representing a client who is seeking a Sous Chef to join their culinary team at a care home in Downend, Bristol. This role is perfect for a professional chef with a passion for creating nutritionally balanced and delicious meals for residents. As a Sous Chef, you will be instrumental in managing and leading the kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality service and upholding our values of being Proud, Supportive, and Caring.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assist in the management and leadership of the culinary team in meal preparation and presentation.
  • Contribute to the delivery of nutritionally balanced and appealing meals to residents.
  • Exhibit creativity and culinary skills in assisting with menu planning and meal preparation.
  • Support the Head Chef in fostering a positive and productive working environment in the kitchen.
  • Maintain the values of being Proud, Supportive, and Caring in all kitchen activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of catering experience.
  • A relevant catering qualification and Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Proficiency in preparing modified diets according to IDDSI guidance.
  • Strong menu planning skills and a passion for culinary excellence.
  • Team-oriented with a supportive approach to colleagues and residents.
  • A sense of pride in your role as a Sous Chef and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
