Exchequer Assistant

Service Care Solutions are looking for an Exchequer Assistant to work within the Lincolnshire Police on a 6-month contract.

Location: Nettleham

Job role/responsibilities:
To assist the Exchequer Services Manager in the provision of a professional exchequer service to personnel and creditors of the Authority.

  • To process creditor invoices in an accurate and timely manner to ensure that creditors are paid within agreed time parameters.
  • To undertake HQ Cashier duties
  • To process petty cash returns and ensure all costs are appropriately supported in a timely manner.
  • To undertake supplier statement reconciliation as required
  • To process Purchase Orders and where applicable make purchases.
  • To book travel and hotel accommodation using the travel system and deal with any queries with these.
  • To resolve exchequer related queries in a prompt and polite manner.
  • To ensure that all exchequer processes are completed within predetermined timetables.
  • To promote best practice in exchequer matters across the Force, providing training, advice, and guidance to personnel in Force.

Knowledge/Experience required:

  • Demonstrates cash handling and/or banking experience.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with members of staff.
  • Communicates effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing avoiding jargon with staff and general public.
  • Knowledge of a computerised financial system (desired)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
