Our client supports people with mental health problems by equipping them with the daily life skills to live independently in the community. In your role as a Supported Housing Officer you will be discussing benefit needs, signposting for welfare advice, and providing Intensive Housing Management for all tenants.

What we need from you as an experienced Supported Housing Officer:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience working as Housing Officer in a supported living environment
  • 12 months experience providing housing management support to vulnerable tenants and monitoring their well-being
  • Experience completing risk assessments and support plans
  • A good understanding of housing policies and procedures
  • Report writing skills with good written, verbal communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages and tenancy systems/Good IT skills overall
  • Ability to prioritise own work load
  • Well mannered, courteous and professional
  • Have a caring but firm approach to tenants

What the role involves:

  • Ensure properties are kept in good condition and are well maintained
  • Document and report repairs needed including any concerns to the Housing Service Manager
  • Receive and record information for housing, health & safety and maintenance issues
  • Adhering to and staying up-to-date with data protection legislation
  • Supporting tenants with regular visits and reporting any issues
  • Preparing written reports for vandalism, damage, arrears or any other tenancy breaches
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing the support plan/risk assessment for each tenant
  • Providing a reception service to tenants, visitors and contractors for day-to-day enquiries or complaints
  • Completing satisfaction surveys for housing standards and ensure appropriate signposting where tenants do not appear to be managing their home well
  • Working closely with support staff and mental health teams
  • To positively promote and take appropriate action to protect the Company's Image with all parties

Training:

  • You are expected to attend training courses which are deemed beneficial to the post

Salary/Hours: £21,000 - £23,100 per annum. Core Hours: Monday to Sunday 9am - 5pm. (37.5 hours per week with days off in the week if working Saturday/Sunday).
