SEN Secondary Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Secondary Teacher to join a supportive SEN school in Ealing. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a compassionate individual with a genuine interest in special education needs. The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and prior SEN experience.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students with a range of SEN.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that recognises and nurtures the individual strengths and needs of each student.
  • Employ a variety of teaching strategies to engage and support students, including the use of technology and sensory resources.
  • Assess and record students' progress, preparing reports and attending parent-teacher meetings to discuss their development.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, SENCO, and support staff to enhance learning and support for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with SEN best practices and pedagogy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience working with SEN students.
  • Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.
