Finance Business Partner (Public Sector)

Reed Finance is working in partnership with a well-known public body in Belfast city centre, in the appointment of a qualified and experienced Finance Business Partner to cover a period of planned absence for 12 months.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with an organisation at the heart of transforming Belfast city centre.

The role:
- To act as the Finance Business Partner, adding commercial value and insight, providing financial input into operational strategy, and assisting with special projects and statutory and management reporting as required.
- Ensuring timely provision of pertinent financial and commercial information to the division. The Finance Business Partner will also assist with the compilation of the annual budget, in-year forecasts and the monthly management accounts package
- Coordinate supply of financial data for profitability statements and perform quality control checks on profitability reports prior to circulation.
- Act as Key contact with external auditors
- Produce Bi-annual reporting of profitability of specific business units
- Provide financial and commercial input with focus and direction on service delivery and development of local and cross border businesses, as part of their wider strategic support function
- Support the identification, development and implementation of all revenue generation, cost reduction and continuous business improvement initiatives. Ensuring operational decisions are underpinned with financial insight and commercial acumen, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Assist the Group Accounting Manager in the corporate planning and budgetary control process
- Aiding the Group Accounting Manager in preparing the annual statutory accounts for the Group and its operating companies

Essential Criteria:
- Qualified accountant with membership of CCAB or equivalent or exam qualified (for second role) accountant with admission to membership expected within 12 months
- Previous experience of finance business partnering in a commercial/industry role
- Experience of implementing cost reduction plans, and/or improving profitability
- Project Management Qualification (Desirable)
- Experience of preparing statutory accounts under IFRS (Desirable)
