Head of Internal Communications

Reporting to the Chief People Officer as part of the People Senior Leadership team, you'll take responsibility for leading all internal communications for Zellis, Moorepay, and Group. You'll own the development and execution of the Zellis Group wide internal communications strategy and roadmap that connects our 2000+ colleagues to our purpose, business priorities, and strategy.

You'll work on a hybrid basis from either our Bristol or Peterborough office (expectation of 2 days per week in the office), with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the Executive and Senior Leadership team to coach and advise on communication, engagement, and inclusion best practices, producing communications solutions tailored to the relevant senior leader and audiences to create high impact comms moments.
  • Supporting and coaching business leaders in communication, engagement and inclusion best practices to produce high-impact company-wide communications, and support colleagues to better self-serve where appropriate.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of all communications campaigns, channels and strategies, focusing on outcomes and ensuring key learnings and recommendations are shared and applied.
  • Bringing our values and culture to life through stories and the showcasing of champions and colleagues living the behaviours, and ensuring our values narrative underpins other communication and business / project deliverables.
  • Overseeing all change and crisis communications, ensuring all structural and people change and transformation is communicated in an effective and coordinated manner.
  • Using excellent copywriting, editing, and public speaking skills, explaining specialist concepts to non-specialist audiences, and producing succinct talking points for senior leaders / spokespeople, delivering constructive feedback as required.
  • Aligning the organisation behind product release cadence, fostering understanding and pride in our products and services, celebrating customer success stories, wins, implementations and renewals.
  • Providing leadership and mentoring one Internal Comms Channel Manager.
  • Working with marketing teams to align internal and external messaging, ensuring consistency across comms strategies.

Skills & experience

  • Previous experience at Head of/Senior Manager or Business Partner level, owning an internal comms strategy.
  • Experience within a similarly sized organisation (circa 2,000 colleagues).
  • Previous experience within a SaaS type business desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent, copywriting, editing, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to explain specialist concepts to a non-specialist audience and produce succinct talking points for leaders.
  • Adept at communication measurement and analytics.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and interact confidently at executive level.
  • Experienced at providing practical and proactive communications guidance and support.
  • Strong business partnering skills.
  • A creative and innovative thinker, always looking for new and better ways of doing things.
