Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a CMM Programmer to join a global Defence manufacturer. This full-time CMM Programmer is based in Greater Manchester and is a permanent position. The role comes with a salary of 45k plus excellent benefits.
As a CMM Programmer, you will specifically carry out the inspection of both piece parts and assemblies using a Faro Measurement arm and also be required to operate and assist with final inspection using CMM machines operated by Polyworks, Calypso or CAM2M10 software.
In your first few weeks in this CMM Programmer role, you can expect to:
- Perform mechanical inspection and alignment of precision assemblies on in-house as well as vendor produced mechanical components.
- Set-up and operate metrology equipment including conventional coordinate measuring machines and/or portable articulating arm coordinate measuring machines (e.g. Faro).
- Read and interpret elementary engineering drawings in order to be able to properly set-up parts/assemblies for CMM measurement.
- Utilise and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance Standards.
- Clearly and effectively report measurement results to stakeholders.
- Support and organise dimensional PPAP documentation to customer approval.
- Document and evaluate historical data to determine calibration intervals
- Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
To apply for this CMM Programmer role, you will need working knowledge of Polyworks, Calypso, CAM2M10 and quality inspection techniques. You will also require the following:
- Be able to use basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators and apply proper tool selection for optimal measurement
- Demonstrated knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance standards (such as ASME Y14.5M and/or ISO 1101)
- Demonstrated experience in CAD system utilisation, import and export of 3d models for CMM programming and data acquisition
