We're looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive secondary SEN school in Ossett, working with pupils aged 13 to 18 with a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
This is a long-term, full-time role ideally suited to someone who thrives in high-impact environments and has real-life experience supporting young people with SEN.
**Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, 1:1 and small group support to pupils aged 13-18
- Assist in classroom learning, emotional regulation, and behaviour support
- Use trauma-informed approaches and person-centred strategies
- Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and SENCOs
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and encouraging school environment
**What We're Looking For
- Previous experience is essential: in youth work, residential care, or secondary SEN support
- Confident supporting children and young people with SEMH, autism, and complex needs
- Calm, resilient, and able to de-escalate challenging behaviour professionally
- Available to work Monday to Friday, term-time only
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
