SEND Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. The role offers an immediate start, working full-time from Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 3:15pm. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of ASD and experience working with children with SEND is desirable.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide support to a child in class on a one-to-one basis as well as in small groups.
- Offer general classroom support under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
- Help implement individual learning plans and contribute to assessments.
- Encourage children's confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to support the child's educational and social development.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND.
- Understanding of ASD and how to support children with this condition.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the direction of the class teacher.
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage with children.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
