- Glasgow or Edinburgh - Hybrid (2 days per week)
- Salary – Up to £60,000.

Key Responsibilities
- Hands-On Technical Work:
Actively engage in the technical aspects, directly developing and managing systems and tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Build strong working relationships with various business units to understand their requirements and deliver tailored services.
- Service Development:
Translate team and customer needs into reliable services, working closely with the Cloud Operations team.
- Infrastructure Management:
Collaborate with your team to deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure effectively.
- Automation Frameworks:
Utilize and enhance automation frameworks developed by you and the Platform Engineering team.
- Azure Expertise:
Apply your experience with Azure to optimize and manage cloud-based solutions.
- Tool Evaluation and Innovation:
Take the opportunity to evaluate and recommend new tools as the team evolves.
- Development Focus:
Dedicate most of your time to development work, focusing on refining and extending automation processes.
- Tooling and Service Development:
Create and improve tools and services to streamline the deployment and maintenance of customer platforms.
- Innovative Tool Exploration:
Explore and integrate new tools as needed to boost productivity.
- Documentation:
Ensure thorough documentation of all developments to facilitate knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance.
Key Tools:
- Terraform:
Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Azure DevOps:
Leverage Azure DevOps for continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and other development operations.
- Git:
Use Git for version control.
Skills and Expertise:

Networking Concepts: Strong understanding of networking fundamentals such as VNETs, subnets, DNS, and WAF.

Cloud Hosting Models:

Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (e.g., Windows VM-based environments).

Familiarity with Platform-as-a-Service offerings like Azure App Service and Azure SQL.

Programming and Scripting Languages:

Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation.

Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML).

Knowledge of PowerShell for scripting tasks.
