A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Administration Support Officer (Safeguarding) within the dynamic Quality Assurance Service in Slough. This ongoing temporary role offers a chance to make a real impact on the lives of children and families in the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Reviews: Organise Reviews for Children Looked After by the Local Authority.
- Manage Conferences: Arrange and manage Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, ensuring statutory timescales are met.
- Multi-Agency Meetings: Attend meetings with Children's Social Care, Police, Health, and Education, take specialist minutes, and follow up on action points.
- First Point of Contact: Serve as the initial contact for external and internal partners regarding Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Children Reviews, and other complex meetings.
- Data Management: Maintain data collection systems to ensure data quality and accuracy for monthly quality assurance reports.
- Update Partner Agencies: Inform partner agencies about children subject to Child Protection Plans and Looked After Children, ensuring data security.
- Support Key Posts: Assist key roles within the Children's Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit, including the Head of Service, Complaints Manager, Child Protection Chair, and Independent Reviewing Officers.
Person Specification:
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in office administration and service support.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Multi-Agency Work: Experience working and communicating with multi-agency organisations, internal staff, and the public.
- Information Management: Proficiency in creating and maintaining computerised and manual information management systems.
- Meeting Support: Experience in attending and supporting complex multi-professional meetings.
- Customer Service: Understanding of good customer service, particularly in inter-agency partnerships.
- Data Protection Knowledge: Knowledge of data protection, data security, and confidentiality issues.
- Commitment to Equality: Commitment to Equality and Diversity principles.
- Educational Qualifications: Educated to GCSE level (grades A-C) or equivalent with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
General & Specific Knowledge:
- Communication: Well-developed written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Minute Taking: Proven skills in taking specialised minutes at complex multi-professional meetings.
