The Role of an Senior ALS Assistant:

As a Senior ALS Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality support to learners with a range of educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teaching staff to create inclusive learning strategies and facilitate the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities of an Senior ALS Assistant:

  • Develop and implement individual learning plans in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support in a classroom setting.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to review meetings.
  • Liaise with external agencies to coordinate additional support where necessary.
  • Mentor and guide junior ALS assistants, promoting best practices.

What you need to be a Senior ALS assistant:

  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education, special needs, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to do one through Reed Further Education
