Are you an experienced Science Teacher, Head of Science or Lead Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity to inspire love for science? This excellent alternative provision is currently recruiting for a Lead Teacher of Science to develop and deliver a science curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs of students who have been excluded form mainstream education.

This school is looking for a Lead Science Teacher who wants to be a part of whole school life, and who will support the schools' mission to enable students to reengage with education. As the Lead Science Teacher, you will be managing a small team, and responsible for quality assurance of the science curriculum. There is an opportunity in this role for an aspiring Assistant Principal, to manage training and staff performance across the whole of school. Job Role:

  • Leading a small team in developing and delivering an outstanding science curriculum to small classes of Key Stage 3 & 4 students with SEMH needs.
  • Teaching both theoretical and practical lessons for students.
  • Acting as part of the SLT, ensuring high standards of teaching are met.
  • Effectively manage behaviours following the school's behaviour policy.
  • Providing training for staff, undertaking performance reviews and monitoring staff performance and progress.
  • Taking part in and leading whole school activities, including trips and wellbeing days.
  • Inspiring a love for science, using real world examples to engage with students.
