Assistant Marketing Manager - Victoria Leeds

Purpose of the Role

The on-site marketing department is responsible for the overall delivery of marketing and promotional activity to support the business plan objectives of Victoria Leeds. The Assistant Marketing Manager will support the Marketing & Communications Manager in the hands-on delivery of activity with a predominant focus on digital communications. Team activity involves all aspects of communication, marketing, PR and events management, whilst consistently enhancing the brand and overall profitability of the property. The marketing team manage and ensure that brand values and integrity are maintained in all executions to the highest standard with success demonstrated in the achievement of targets, which increase overall trading performance of the centre.

Key Responsibilities

General:

  • Support the Marketing & Communications Manager in the implementation of centre marketing plans.
  • Liaise with creative agencies and suppliers on artwork design, collateral, promotional assets and print.
  • Oversee standards and design/print of POS such as signage and posters, proofing artwork and copy, being a keen brand guardian at all times.
  • Contribute to the drafting of monthly / quarterly marketing reports and regular post campaign analyses upon completion of events and promotions to share with the management team.
  • Manage location photography and filming applications (in-house and externally), ensuring all departments are informed and Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • Manage the photographic library.
  • Support the Marketing & Communications Manager with administration including budget sheet management, timely and accurate invoicing/reconciliation within company financial and cash handling procedures.
  • Daily liaison with Commercialisation, Retail Business Manager and wider management team to fulfil marketing duties.

Digital Communications – social media, website and email marketing:

  • Co-ordinate the end-to-end delivery of the social media outputs ensuring compelling content and a bespoke approach across each platform – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
  • Content is provided by retailers and third parties, but must be comfortable creating own photography and videos.
  • Ensure social content calendars have a healthy mix of content themes which represent our promotional categories, events, store openings, supporting the centre's proposition and retailers, whilst engaging with our audience.
  • Managing influencer marketing and curated visits to experience the centre.
  • Manage boosting budget and also liaise with media buying agency on paid social advertising campaigns.
  • Continually analyse social performance to drive and maximise engagement and ROI.
  • Manage day to day website content management using the CMS, including listing promotional offers & events and retailer brand page updates, as well as long-form blog content and informational updates.
  • General understanding of core SEO principles and the ability to develop content alongside an agency to optimize the website.
  • Content manage the centre promotional screens as and when required including centre branded and retailer assets.
  • Research, compile and deliver monthly e-mailer communications to the in-house database, in accordance with the marketing strategy ensuring a healthy mix of compelling content and run reports.

Retailer and brand partner communications:

  • Day to day marketing contact for all Victoria Leeds retailers and brand partners. Regular liaison with tenants and brand head office marketing teams, with regards to their own marketing initiatives and how we can support them as part of our own plans, particularly new tenant launch plans, and to communicate our own marketing plans at monthly Brand Partner and City Meetings.
  • Efficiently and professionally action general marketing enquiries and information requests, including retailer marketing enquiries.
  • Detailed operational management of all on-site marketing-led events and promotions, ensuring all departments & retailers are informed and Health and Safety requirements are met.
  • Liaise with centre management and operations team to ensure detailed communication of all marketing activities taking place onsite.
  • Manage design and production of vacant unit branded coverings when required.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and use professionally commissioned insight to shape media plans and target audience effectively for all marketing activity.
  • Compile monthly reporting and post-campaign analyses on all core campaigns, events, and seasonal periods, to show ROI on all activity in terms of delivering additional footfall, increasing dwell time, positive customer experiences and a positive effect on retailer sales, according to business and campaign-specific objectives and KPIs.
  • Support Marketing & Communications Manager in delivering marketing plan in line with agreed budget. Support with service charge and landlord budgets, including timely tracking and monitoring of invoicing / reconciliation with finance team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend any training and development courses as necessary.
  • Occasional weekend and ‘out of hours' work for example, events; time to be given in lieu.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs and future changes within the business.
  • Part of the duty manager rota once fully trained.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Minimum:

  • Relevant experience in marketing industry working with social media and digital platforms (minimum 1-2 years).
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Confident and knowledgeable in creating content using iPhone and editing software/apps.
  • Ability to use own initiative and innovate, but also works well in a team.
  • Ahead of marketing, digital and social media trends.
  • Excellent communicator and organiser with the ability to keep on top of multiple tasks at once.
  • Excellent level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, CMS, social media management platforms and email marketing software.
  • Proven experience in getting results.
  • Experience in liaising with external third parties and suppliers.
  • Numerate with analytical skills.
  • Eye for detail and able to work to deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Premium brand experience.
