Harmonic is thrilled to be working exclusively with one of the UK's most exciting emerging snack brands, already establishing themselves as go-to treats found in the UK's leading supermarkets (including the national treasure that is the Tesco's meal deal). With a turnover of over £8million in the UK and an impressive $25million in the US market, our client is looking for an ambitious Finance leader to join them on their journey in disrupting the UK and US snack market and expand their international reach even further. The company is currently experiencing a c.35% growth rate year on year, so is excited to take on a forward-thinking Head of Finance to act as a motivating and energetic leader for their finance team and drive the business' financial growth.

Our client is looking for a motivated and energetic leader experienced in commercial finance to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a great eye for detail, whilst having a background in either FMCG, Retail or Food and Beverage. The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial operations, financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Based in North London offices, easily accessible via Overground and Northern Line, our client is looking for a Head of Finance who will come into their offices 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual comprehensive financial reports for the CEO, investors, and external stakeholders.
  • Implement and optimize finance processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Lead cash flow management strategies to support operational requirements and strategic investments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard financial stability.
  • Mentor and guide our finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development.
  • Cultivate relationships with external partners and provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Regularly review and update risk management processes to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to streamline processes and optimize operations.
  • Leading the company's internal and inventory controls, while maintaining control policies and the integrity of the accounting systems. Working closely with operations management procedures to ensure that inventory & production forecasting and valuation is carried out to optimal productivity.
  • Maintaining a persistently professional yet friendly demeanor in leading financial business partnering initiatives through collaborating with operations and sales, as well as the founders in order to develop the company's vision for the future.
  • Developing and leading budget and cash-flow management strategies as well as coordinating the annual & quarterly budgeting and forecasting process.

What we need to see (essential):

  • Excellent leadership skills while valuing the importance of cross-functional communication
  • Fully ACA / ACCA / CIMA / ICAS qualified
  • Willingness and drive to work within a start-up setting
  • Experience with inventory management, Xero and Excel
  • High level of knowledge regarding compliance requirements, financial regulations and accounting standards

  • Experience within an FMCG start-up
  • Desire to work within a fast-paced company
  • Track record of evolving systems and processes as a company has grown
  • Experience in multi-entity accounting / international business would be beneficial

Salary: £85-95k + competitive bonus + benefits
