Full Stack Java Developer

A Java Full Stack Web Developer is required to join leading Fintech organisation within their development team. You will be responsible for the ongoing development, support and maintenance of their market leading stochastic modelling solutions to the financial services industry.

As part of the development team you will be responsible for the technical design, development, maintenance and implementation of Java Calculation API and backend systems using Java and SQL. And Front End Development too.

Qualifications:

A degree at 2:1 or better in a relevant field, such as Software Engineering, Computer science, or similar. Degrees in a Maths related subject would be considered for a candidate with the right experience.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

? 10+ years Java EE development experience, preferably gained on enterprise business systems.

? Excellent working knowledge of Java, Tomcat and the Java ecosystem

? DBMS experience in Oracle, Mysql or SQLServer

? Good experience in supporting, modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by others.

? An ability to quickly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions whilst adhering to the agreed specification.

? Knowledge and experience of software development processes and methodologies.

? Experience using and maintaining version control and bug tracking systems.

? An understanding of Agile development methodologies and XP techniques

Desirable Experience:

? Knowledge and experience using the following: Eclipse, Tomcat, MYSQL, Apache, Jenkins and Ubuntu/Debian/Unix.

? Knowledge of Javascript frameworks such as JQuery and ReactJS

? An appreciation of financial services, pensions and investments.

? Experience of DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes is a distinct advantage.
