As the Head of Digital Learning, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive learning programs. Your role will be pivotal in managing the end-to-end learning experience, driving engagement, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, manage a team of learning professionals, and leverage innovative technologies to enhance learning outcomes.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Learning Designers and Training Administrators to ensure high-quality deliverables and continuous professional growth.
  • Upskill the team in learning technologies and initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the quality of work produced by the team to ensure learning needs are met and design quality is of the highest standard.

LMS and Technology Management:

  • Oversee the administration and optimisation of the Learning Management System (Docebo), including continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with LMS administrators to ensure best practices and consistency of content in the LMS.
  • Utilise HTML and CSS to customise the LMS user experience for optimal usability.
  • Discover and onboard new technologies to support learning design and development, ensuring integration and compatibility within the LMS.
  • Implement gamification strategies and other engagement techniques to make learning more interactive and motivating for learners.

Strategic Planning and Project Management:

  • Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of learning programs, including detailed capacity planning for the next 12 months and long-term strategic planning for the next 3 years.
  • Conduct thorough training needs analysis to identify learning requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Create and manage project plans to ensure timely delivery, working closely with business leaders and stakeholders to scope new projects.

Content Development and Curation:

  • Turn content from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) into engaging and effective learning materials.
  • Curate and recommend relevant external learning resources to complement internal training programs.

Process Optimisation and Compliance:

  • Digitise processes and learning to ensure a seamless learner experience, easy access to information, and compliance with standards and audits.
  • Continuously improve processes to enhance team efficiency
  • Conduct root cause analysis on issues arising with digital content and the LMS, ensuring swift and effective resolution.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and their delivery, using data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop a robust framework for evaluating the effectiveness of learning programs, including the use of Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation or other relevant models.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on learning metrics and outcomes.

Vendor and Budget Management:

  • Manage relationships with off-the-shelf content suppliers to ensure content compatibility and engagement, negotiating contracts to ensure high-quality service and value for money.
  • Manage the budget for learning and development projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions and ROI.

Innovation and Research:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and research in digital learning, incorporating innovative approaches and technologies into the learning strategy.
  • Innovate digital solutions to address challenges within the Learning & Development department and the wider business.

User Support and Community Building:

  • Provide support and training for end-users of the LMS and other learning technologies, ensuring they are fully equipped to utilise the tools effectively.
  • Foster a community of practice among learners to encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Change Management and Performance Consulting:

  • Support organisational change initiatives through targeted learning programs and interventions, ensuring employees are prepared for changes in processes or systems.
  • Act as an internal consultant to diagnose learning and performance needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Location: Based in Nuneaton, this role operates under a hybrid model with 2-3 days a week on-site, supporting flexibility and productivity.
