- We are seeking a Health & Safety Technician to oversee and maintain health and safety protocols within our Mechanical & Electronics Workshops. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and compliance with health and safety legislation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and risk assessments within the workshops to identify potential hazards.
- Implement and manage health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
- Provide health and safety training to workshop staff as required.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.
- Maintain records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
- Ensure that all health and safety equipment is present and in working order.
- Liaise with external health and safety authorities as necessary.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Technician or similar role within a workshop environment.
- Knowledge of legislation (Health & Safety at Work Act) and procedures.
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Diligent with great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
