Job Description: They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will oversee station maintenance and reactive works across the Midlands. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee a team of skilled engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of maintenance and reactive works.

  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.

  • Station Maintenance:

  • Ensure all station maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with industry standards and company policies.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess the condition of stations and identify necessary maintenance tasks.

  • Reactive Works:

  • Coordinate and manage reactive maintenance requests, ensuring timely response and resolution.

  • Implement effective troubleshooting and problem-solving strategies to address unexpected issues.

  • Project Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and provide regular reports to senior management.

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards and legislation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the rail industry, with a focus on station maintenance and reactive works.
  • Strong understanding of rail infrastructure and maintenance processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in project management and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
