We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant education centre in Caterham, Surrey. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism, and challenging behaviour.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to support their safety and enjoyment of learning.
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development in students.
  • Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
  • Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task to ensure smooth running. This may include physical intervention, with full training provided.
  • Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
  • Team TEACH Training (desirable).
