Divisional Accountant

Our client is current experiencing a significant level of growth and is seeking a Divisional Accountant to join their busy and friendly Finance Team. You will be leading the production of accurate management accounts to a high standard and ensuring deadlines are met. You will need to be able to explain complex financial information clearly and enjoy working with accounting systems. You will have a logical approach to work alongside an analytical and problem solving mind.

This is a full time role based in their lovely offices based on the outskirts of Wokingham. The salary for this role is up to £45,000 plus a discretionary annual 12% bonus.

Main responsibilities for this Divisional Accountant role:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and insights to senior management, highlighting key trends and recommendations for informed decision-making.
  • Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting support to inform strategic planning initiatives and optimise resource allocation.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance and business units, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives and priorities.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, working closely with the Group Management Accountant.
  • Calculations for weekly payment run, weekly receipts / payments cashflow forecasting and analysis of data for cash flow reporting within the Energy Services Division against forecast and Budget.
  • Regularly reconcile all customer accounts across revenue streams, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinate supplier accounts, maintaining meticulous records and production of self-billing invoices.
  • Prepare profit and loss statements tailored to the specific Division to assess financial performance against Budgets and Forecasts, and support decision-making ready for review and reporting to the central finance team.
  • Produce Budget & Forecasts in line with Group reporting requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives aimed at enhancing financial performance and operational efficiency across the organisation

Skills Required for this Divisional Accountant role are:

  • Finance background is required
  • Part qualified/AAT or similar would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Nav) would be preferred
  • Proficient in Excel including pivot tables.
