Are you a recent graduate (Geography or Tech biased would be prefered)? or perhaps have experience in data analysis? or have an interest in working with technical data with strong IT skills?
Our client is seeking candidates on a temporary basis for 6 months to support them in the role of Geospatial Information/Product Specialist. This role will be based on site, in Taunton, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The purpose of the role is to support the analysis of marine geospatial data and the generation of products from databases.
- Within each team this may vary in emphasis but will include anything from:
- Interpreting simple incoming source information and updating databases
- Assisting with the maintenance of authoritative, feature specific master data layers to support production activity/meet Customer needs
- Updating databases from simple source and updating ENCs from the database.
- Supporting the production and ongoing maintenance of charts.
Specific Technical/Functional Skills and Experience
- Good IT skills with experience of learning and applying new, non-MS software packages
- Good attention to detail
- Experience of analysing or manipulating data
- An understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) would be preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of the organisation.
Start date is subject to a DBS Check and referencing to cover the last 3 years inclusive. Due to security checks, we will require confirmation that you have not left the UK for more than 28 days in the last 5 years and also that you hold a british passport / duel nationality to include british.
