Server Support Engineer - Security - 1 day onsite
We are working with a global leader in manufacturing and distribution, renowned for delivering high-quality products across the EMEA region. Their commitment to excellence extends beyond their products to their IT infrastructure, where we are enhancing their security measures. To support this, we are seeking a motivated 2nd Line Server Engineer to join their team in Gillingham.
As a Server Support Engineer, you will be at the forefront of their security initiatives, with a key focus on patching, security tools installation, and remediation. In this role, you'll not only manage and support server infrastructure but also play a crucial part in data management and presentation. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities, ensuring their systems remain robust and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and apply patches across server environments to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Install and maintain security tools, ensuring proper configuration and effectiveness.
- Perform remediation activities in response to security incidents or vulnerabilities.
- Support data management processes, including the accurate presentation and reporting of data.
- Provide technical support related to server administration, addressing issues and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with security standards and best practices.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement within server infrastructure and security processes.
- Maintaining installation of appropriate tools and security agents, with help from an existing asset management system.
- Daily and real-time reporting on server SecOps status.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in server administration with a focus on patching and security tools.
- Proven ability to install, configure, and maintain security tools and software.
- Experience with remediation processes in response to security vulnerabilities.
- Strong data management skills, with the ability to present data effectively.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across different functions.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
