Event Manager
- Annual Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience
- Location: Swindon (office based 4 days per week), with travel to events
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Hours: 9.00am - 5.30pm (due to event hosting nature of the role, some hours will be required outside of this working patten)
My client is seeking an Event Manager to oversee and manage high-quality events both in the UK and overseas. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for operational excellence and creativity in event management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of events from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet the set margins and embody our core values.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Compile and present proposals to clients.
- Manage bookings from initial enquiry, including budgeting, creating proposals, presenting, and accounting.
- Conceive innovative and creative events tailored to client needs.
- Present plans and proposals to clients and manage individual event budgets.
- Provide full event management support on-site, which includes regular time away from home and overnight stays.
- Attend trade events to promote the company and liaise with suppliers and DMCs.
- Handle invoicing and general administration tasks.
- Attend a minimum of two client events per year outside of office hours to meet clients and gain product knowledge.
- Participate in two Keeping in Touch (KIT) days per year to maintain client relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a Corporate Event Manager or similar operational role.
- Proven track record of managing and successfully completing your own events from brief to post-event, with onsite experience both in the UK and overseas.
- Experience managing events with a budget of £250,000 - £500,000+.
- Strong negotiation skills and supplier knowledge.
- Extensive venue and destination knowledge worldwide.
- Proficiency in PC use, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet targets.
