Pastoral Support Tutor
Location: Berkshire
Hours: 37 hours per week (Term Time Only + 41 weeks)
Grade: H (£24,243.48 - £26,690.29 FTE, equivalent to £26,336 - £28,994)
About Us: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Tutor to join our Student Services team. As a Pastoral Support Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' overall well-being, academic progress, and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Tutorial Groups: Manage up to 10 tutorial groups, delivering the Core Studies curriculum alongside the wider Tutorial Team.
- Personal Development: Collaborate with the Student Services team to design and implement whole-college pastoral and personal development activities that foster resilience and prepare students for their future endeavors.
- Student Engagement: Regularly meet with assigned students to track academic performance, address personal conduct, and provide pastoral support.
- Holistic Support: Serve as a point of contact for students, offering advice on welfare and other entitlements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, Curriculum Managers, and relevant staff to address retention, achievement, attendance, and behavior issues within your tutor groups.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant experience in education, counseling, or student support.
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Knowledge of welfare resources and entitlements.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
