We are recruiting for a Band 6 Health Visitor to work a long term NHS contract in West London!
The hourly rate is £30 - £32 ph.
Working largely independently, but with the support of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals, you'll deliver child health programmes. You will work in partnership with children's centres, schools, GPs, social care organisations and voluntary agencies, and to create close relationships with families built on honesty, respect and trust.
You will need to be a specialist community public health nurse, you should have knowledge of safeguarding and other legislation relating to children's health services and we will support you to develop your safeguarding experience.
Main Duties:
- To assess the health needs of the individual, and to involve the client/carer in the process of meeting those health needs.
- To monitor the health of children under five years of age, and to involve the family in promoting optimum health and development of all children.
- To be aware of deviations from the normal in health and behaviour, and to intervene to protect vulnerable children and adults by prompt action, by referral and working with other agencies as part of a specialist team. Examples include child abuse interventions, special needs assessments, and work with the chronically sick and disabled.
