HOURS: Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm (can be flexible on this)

SALARY:

£14.47 + holiday pay

About the Role:

We are looking for two Youth Development Workers to support our expansion of supported accommodation for young people in North Devon. Ideally, these will be a temp to perm opportunity, although we need interim support as well!

What will my working week look like?

Youth Development Workers work Monday to Friday and are part of a multidisciplinary team on site supporting the young people who can live with us. The role includes some element of lone working, but only for short periods of time.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be providing key worker support to our young people. Working through support and action plans, updating risk assessments and risk management plans with them, in order for them to develop the life skills necessary to move on and live independently in the community.

As a specialist in tenancy sustainment you will ensure that young people are able to maintain their excluded licence and tenancies and can access services that are appropriate to their needs, strengths and aspirations.

To be a successful as a Youth Development Worker, you will have:

  • An ability to engage with a range of young people.
  • A tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people.
  • A good understanding of young people's needs, safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
  • An understanding of support needs and support planning.
  • An understanding risk assessing and risk management.
  • A full, valid driving licence.
  • An enhanced DBS checked against adults and children's barred list
