JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of REMOTE SUPPORT ENGINEER is an exciting role that involves providing vital remote support assistance for automated machines across the world. You will also spend time at customer sites, working to improve your understanding of the machines and assisting the installation team.

  • We are looking for a candidate with great technical aptitude & enthusiasm - this could be in anything mechanical or IT related
  • You also need to have the ability to learn quickly, work on multiple things at once and work under pressure.
  • You will need to work on several machines at the same time which will require a calm and collected approach to your work.
  • Able to work efficiently from home, a stable internet connection, and the ability to travel within the UK, Europe and occasionally further afield
  • Ideally you will have an eye for efficiency and working out where you can increase your productivity.
  • Flexibility is a key part of the position and our staff love the ability to influence their shift patterns each week.
  • You will work a 37.5hour week and will cover 5 shifts a week.

You will work a variety of shifts: 7am-1pm, 1pm-7pm and 7pm-7am - these will be across week and weekends

This role is based from home (70-80%), with fully expensed travel to customer sites (20-30%)

You will receive full on the job training which will consist of shadowing senior engineers as they guide you through the functions of the machines and how to trouble shoot any of the number of issues that arise. You will also work as part of the onsite engineering team which will include the chance to travel to many different countries to assist with the smooth operation of their machines.

Key Role Elements - Remote Support

  • Converse with the clients and establish their issue and provide a courteous and efficient troubleshooting & support service
  • Working to resolve physical machine issues remotely through a computer, carefully analysing all the available data to work safely to resolve the issue quickly.
  • Utilizing your skills to triage multiple jobs as they come in ensuring that the most pressing are dealt with first, while ensuring the rest are still completed in a timely manner.
  • Reporting of persistent issues or breakdowns through the appropriate channels, ensuring a thorough and accurate description of the issue is given.
  • Working out of hours on a rota basis to provide clients with 24/7 support
  • Travelling to client sites to improve your knowledge of the machines and assist the installation team
  • Working independently predominantly but with the ability to work with a team when required.
  • Team work is especially important when requiring assistance on a problem or helping others with theirs. You must be able to ask for help!

Working from home - you must be able to focus while on shift to provide our clients with a fast and efficient service.

JOB SPEC: SALARY: £28,000 - £30,000 (Based on experience)
CONTRACTUAL HOURS: Full Time Perm: 37.5 Hours per week
PLACE OF WORK: Home working
WORKING DAYS: Rota based on any day of the week or weekend
WORKING HOURS: 6am - 1pm or 1pm - 8pm
NIGHTSHIFTS: Following training and time spent mastering the role, nightshifts required once a month consisting of 8pm - 6am Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
PROVIDED WITH: Laptop, Mobile Phone and travel expenses when required.
