Purchasing Assistant

Are you looking to join a well-established business, head quartered in Sunderland with operations across England and Scotland? Look no further! We are working with a fast-growing company that is currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the procurement of goods and services required for the company's operations.
  • Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement records.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure they are approved and processed correctly.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to manage stock levels.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders and deliveries.
  • Support the procurement team in developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities.
  • Assist in preparing reports and analysing data related to procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in facilities management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
