Salary: £36,143 FTE (approx. £21,685 pro rata)
Working Hours: 22,5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm OR (am to 5.30pm)

Job Purpose:
To provide a professional, efficient and effective generalist HR and Recruitment service to all line managers and employees across the Group.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Responsible for the full recruitment lifecycle form vacancy approval to employee start date including but not limited to; writing job descriptions and person specifications, advertising in a timely and effective manner within key publications; undertaking interviews, producing contracts of employment.

Provision and application of an effective client-facing HR advisory service primarily to line management, but also to staff in the following areas:

Disciplinary

Grievance

Absence Management

Performance Management

Employee Resourcing and Resource Planning

HR Policy application

Redundancy and Restructure

Provide advice and coach line managers on the effective application of the Group's policies and procedures.

Draft new Group policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice.

Managing long term sickness cases and persistent short term sickness absence to ensure effective resolution including returning to work and or ill health dismissal as appropriate.

Liaise with Occupational Health regarding employee referrals when required.

Creating and delivering training workshops to assist with line management development of key HR requirements of their role for example discipline, sickness absence, recruitment & selection & performance management.

Hold quarterly People Management meetings with Head of Functions to assist and advise on HR related matters.

Prepare and deliver HR inductions to new employees joining the Group.

Designing and standardising HR documentation and guides when required.

Daily inputting updating and maintaining iTrent (HR system).

Identifying and implementing business/process improvements.

Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and ensuring the effective application of any legal updates to the Group's staff policy and procedures as required.

Compiling regular HR Management Information Reporting (including Headcount, Absence, and Attrition) to monitor HR performance against KPIs, identify trends and support informed decision making.

Manage and implement ad hoc HR projects, to support the business and HR strategy, and drive employee engagement as directed by the Director of HR.
Experience
- Experience of operating as an HR Officer/HR Advisor in a complex matrix organisation.
- An up to date understanding of employment law and implications.
- Experience of writing and implementing policies within business environment.
- Experience of updating and maintaining a HRIS (preferably iTrent).
- Experience of supporting line management through application of ER policies.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of best practice HR/ L&D.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and influencing skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload, work under pressure and deliver against tight deadlines.
