We are on the lookout for an Assistant Manager to join our team. This role is integral to our mission of providing a therapeutic living experience for young people, in line with our ethos and the Health and Social Care Standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential childcare and a commitment to professional development and leadership.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the Service Manager in the efficient operational management of the residential home.
  • Provide excellent care to children and young people, ensuring a therapeutic and positive environment.
  • Manage a team of staff, including Senior Residential Child Care Workers, and provide motivation and support.
  • Identify training needs, supervise staff performance, and manage staff rotas.
  • Contribute to the organisation's efficiency drives and work towards meeting set targets and goals.
  • Work with Senior Residential Child Care Workers to carry out set duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of Social Care Standards.
  • Undergo an intensive programme of induction and training upon successful recruitment.
  • Provide excellent care to the children and young people.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Full UK Clean Driving Licence.
  • Relevant UK experience in the residential childcare sector in a supervisory role.
  • SVQ3 in Children and Young People/HNC in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Currently or willing to work towards an SVQ 4 and Leadership and Management qualification.
  • Ability to work unsocial hours, including weekends, and perform on-call duties.
  • Ambitious attitude with a commitment to meeting set targets and goals.
