Working as a Finance Assistant for a large FX Financial Services firm in London.

Client Details

Specialist firm in commercial Foreign Exchange. Offering a range of FX services aimed at corporate and institutional clients to manage foreign exchange exposure and international payments.

Description

Financial Reporting and Control

  • Assist to prepare monthly management accounts;
  • Assist to ensure the management accounts are compliant with country/regional regulations;
  • Assist to Finance team to agree inter-company reconciliations;
  • Attend a month end meeting and discuss any issues with the monthly management accounts or reconciliations and work with the team to resolve any queries and agree how to close;
  • Assist with prepayments and loans;
  • Assist to prepare local payroll in line and final payment;
  • Assist to prepare monthly reports for the local teams and ad hoc reports as and when required;
  • Assist to prepare year end statutory accounts;
  • Assist to prepare information for internal and external audits.

Tax and Compliance

  • Assist to prepare tax returns;
  • Assist to complete reconciliation of tax information;
  • Assist to ensure tax is processed in line with regional requirement;
  • Assist to ensure manuals and procedures are kept up to date with any change in regional requirements or regulations;
  • Assist clear controls in place and followed to reduce errors.

Strategic Planning and Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Assist to maintain controls to minimise risks;
  • Assist to prepare variance analysis of financial reports as requested.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist to prepare any information required to support with forecasting and budgets.

General

  • Assist Project work;
  • Other tasks as and when required to support the Finance team;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and identify learning opportunities.

Profile

  • Educated to Graduate-level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience;
  • Accounting knowledge;
  • Ability to learn new tasks and procedures quickly;
  • Good demonstrable knowledge of UK financial Regulations etc.;
  • Ability to analyse complicated data;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Good command in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • High standard of oral & written English is mandatory;
  • Fluency in other European languages is desirable.
  • Ideally from Financial Services
