Our after-school club sessions cater to the needs of all children, whilst aiming to stimulate a fun and safe environment. Our Wrap around care allows the Joys of after school care and sports combined. Children will also be fed by the school before coming to us in preparation for their parents /guardians picking them up. Our caring and capable staff look to optimise maximum fun and sporting experiences whilst in our care.
The Role:
- Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities and games to engage children in constructive and enjoyable experiences.
- Assist children with homework assignments and provide academic support when needed.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to children, fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, teachers, and other staff members regarding children's progress, concerns, and achievements.
- Implement positive behavior management strategies to promote discipline and respect among children.
- Collaborate with other care workers and school staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care for children.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any relevant information pertaining to children's well-being and development.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to child care and development.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a similar capacity is preferred.
- A compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine love for working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in child care.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Wrap around is during the school term time between Monday - Friday, so you must be available between 4:30pm- 6:00pm.
You will provide play time for the young people whilst the incorporation of sport, it is ESSENTIAL you have up to date DBS clearance.
