Job Summary

Working within the HR team you will support the HR service provision across the organisation, which may include national units based outside of London. This role is key in the delivery of national workforce planning, recruitment and resourcing and providing advice in complex HR matters.

As the post holder, you will also be required to work effectively with the HR Talent & Attraction colleagues, Vetting, Compliance and Assurance, relevant business areas and Senior Leads with the aim of providing an efficient service delivery. The role also requires the ability to interpret national strategic direction and objectives into coordination and delivery within the HR Team.

Line management activity within this role.

Key Tasks

The post holder will be required support delivery in the following areas:

  • Providing a high level of support to enable an excellent customer service response to the ever-changing demands of the national network, whilst ensuring compliance with multi-agency policies and procedures
  • Responsible for disseminating and communicating the strategic HR direction to support implementation, monitoring and understanding.
  • Review and develop revised or new policies and initiatives that are fit purpose, support the strategic HR vision.
  • Analysis of workforce planning activity, managing and monitoring the CT/PS funded profile ensuring the co-ordination of recruitment, selection and retention of staff to meet current needs and ensure future requirements are identified and delivered.
  • Identifying risks in vacancy management and succession planning to ensure a consistent and efficient delivery of resourcing.
  • Developing standardised terms and conditions of a blended workforce in relation to the national recruitment.
  • Provide strategic professional HR advice and guidance to pillar leads/unit heads.
  • Provide strategic HR input nationally to colleagues when delivering regional collaboration projects and mergers.
  • Providing collaborative leadership whilst managing multiple activities within the HR Pillar including assessment of the capacity and workforce capabilities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of career pathways to support succession planning and career development of staff.
  • Working alongside the Talent and Attraction colleagues to support and attend national recruitment events.
  • Support daily management of the HR Service Delivery function.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection processes, understanding the timelines and the approach required to optimise processes to align with activity.
  • Strong influencing skills, the ability and confidence to challenge current practices and develop new ideas, solutions and business cases - ensuring HR activities can be delivered with maximum benefit and are aligned to the organisation's wider strategy and priorities.
  • Strong relationship management and partnership skills, with the ability to represent HR with internal and external partners and agencies at senior levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks, and competing priorities.
  • Ability to gather, analyse and organise complex information and data from a wide range of sources.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills and the ability to advise managers on change management, consultation and implementation processes.
