Job Title: Asset GIS Technician

Salary: £32,482

Location: Newport

Contract: FTC 3-4 months (potential to extend to 6 months)

Summary

To work as part of the Asset Data team to ensure asset data is a valued, high-quality resource that is effectively managed and administered within a controlled governance framework.

This includes:

  • Support on the management and development of the Asset Management System (PIMSS)
  • Manage the organization's Geographical Information System (GIS) to ensure records are up to date and confirm continuity of asset data across the asset team. Develop the system to provide a useful resource for multiple team and colleagues
  • Be responsible for the property and land sales procedure by producing Land Registry compliant plans and consult with internal and external consultants regarding the decision-making process.
  • Support the Asset Data Team with administrative tasks

Job Specification

  • Maintain the quality and integrity of data using all available systems including PIMSS (asset management database), Keeper (housing management database), and our GIS mapping system; by identifying, updating, checking, and cleansing the data always held to produce effective analysis and reports used to inform decisions that will lead to increased business performance.
  • Assist in ensuring that the survey data is continually updated in the asset management system to reflect best practice and business requirements.
  • Manage property information relating to components, land, asbestos, fire, investment cost, energy performance, communal and safety related inspection issues.
  • Assist with property and land sales procedure by producing of Land Registry compliant plans and consult with internal and external consultants regarding the decision-making process.
  • Manage the organization's Geographical Information System to ensure records are up to date and confirm continuity of asset data across the asset team. Develop the system to provide a useful resource for multiple team and colleagues.
  • Assist in the compilation of relevant asset and survey data available from other team members and encourage the feedback of asset related information.
  • Assist in mapping and updating Land Registry ownership and grounds maintenance area in accordance with organizational requirements and changes.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by your Line Manager in furtherance of the organization and individual objectives and policies.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, private occupants and leaseholders ensuring all complaints and queries are dealt with in accordance with policy.
  • Provide relevant data and information as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business internally and externally.
  • To always work in a safe and appropriate manner to meet the duties and responsibilities within the Health and Safety policies and procedures of the association.

Person Specification

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel and using complex databases and generally a working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Experience of working with and administering a GIS system
  • Knowledge and experience of conveyancing and/or land sales
  • Ability to produce and analyse reports so the appropriate information is clearly presented.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal effectively with queries and complaints and excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and to liaise appropriately with all relevant stakeholders.
