CAD Technician/Draughtsperson

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Mirfield WF14

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality, detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs from architects and designers.
  • Modify existing drawings to ensure compliance with industry and health and safety standards.
  • Use various CAD software programs (2D and 3D models), including Autodesk Revit Architecture and Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Provide accurate, detailed, and to-scale drawings.
  • Conduct site visits and attend client-facing meetings as required.
  • Present working drawings for all project stages: tender, manufacture/construction, and installation.
  • Maintain accurate records.

Essential Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude.
  • Flexible and works well under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn and pursue personal development.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple projects.
  • Relevant CAD design qualification or training certificate.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit Architecture and Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Must work 5 days in the office (occasional flexibility permitted).
  • Must have a driving licence or be local to the office.
  • Experience in a CAD technician/draughtsperson role.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of RIBA stages and construction principles.
  • Understanding of joinery, steel fabrications, and basic Civil Engineering.
  • Capable of producing manufacturing drawings.
  • Familiarity with Building Regulations, HBN's, and HTM's.
  • Previous modular construction experience (ideal but not essential).
  • Ability to calculate costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check feasibility of manufacture and construction.
  • Ability to produce installation and manufacturing documentation.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and designers to understand design requirements and provide technical advice.
