Engage Education are currently seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for young people that have additional needs such as Autism, SEMH and Profound Learning Disabilities. You will be working in one of our partnership Primary Schools based in Leeds.
The positions are to commence in September and they have the potential of a permanent role for the right candidates.

We are looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant who is predominantly experienced in working in a Youth or Support Worker role but applications are welcome from applicants with a range of SEND experience.
Within the role you will be required to:
- Provide calming and nurturing support for a pupil with an EHCP
- Promote good behaviour management strategies
- Support the delivery of lessons to engage and enthuse learners
- Be a positive role model for the children, through commitment to the setting expectations
- Show an interest in the children that you are working with, to build mutually respectful relationships
Skills and attributes:
- Ability to relate well to pupils and young adults with additional needs
- Experience of working within a similar setting would be advantageous
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Team Teach qualification desirable
- Experience of working with SEN, PMLD, ASD or SEMH advantageous
